    Coaches and Volunteers Checklist
    1. Before
    {we've moved.png} we've moved.png
    If
    you begin meeting with students, declare your intent to be district sponsored or district supported by completing "Agreement 2013.2014"
    send it to the GT Office. Below are several information pieces to help your team make this decision. Please send one form per team.
    {Agreement 2013.2014.pdf}
    {FAQ Regarding Sponsorship-2013-2014.pdf} {District Sponsorship Decision Letter-2013-2014.pdf} {District or Non District Sponsorship Activities - 2013-2014.pdf}
    2. Receive email confirmation of receipt and approval for sponsorship or support with volunteer registration and training information. Make sure all
    volunteers are registered with the district. VITAL - Volunteer Registration
    Attend an enrichment-volunteer training OR read the enrichment volunteer handbook and have each volunteer complete the questionnaire and
    return to the GT Office.

    3. District Supported Team: If you intend to meet at a district facility, request your booking online through Facility Use. You have completed the
    required steps. Facility Services
    District Sponsored Team: Contact your school secretary to book your room(s) for practices/meetings. Move on to the next step. When you book,
    we will need the name of the building, room number(s), start and end times for your meetings, the date you want your meetings to begin, the date
    you want your meetings to end, and total number of people meeting (including kids and adults).
    4. Gather your team and have parents of participants complete the permission slip specific to your program. It is a good idea to copy the "Emergency
    Form" to the back to have these two items together. KEEP THESE SLIPS ON FILE UNTIL THE END OF YOUR SEASON.
    5. Enjoy your season. Remember to contact the GT Office if you have questions, have approved reimbursements to request, have registration
    materials to turn in, or
    are looking for additional support.
    6. If your team has the desire to attend an out-of-district event or anticipates any type of fundraising, please fill out the request forms when you
    begin meeting. It is easier to cancel an approved trip or fundraising, than it is to add them at the last minute. The District GT Office can help you
    through this process.
    7. District transportation should be requested

    and made available for your students. We may be able to reserve a single bus for several teams.
    If you've offered district transportation, but parents will be driving their own children, please contact our office.
    =====
    Out-of-state and/or overnight travel: Please begin this process as soon as your team begins meeting at the beginning of the season. Contact=====
    the GT Office or the Athletics and Activities Office for required documents and information.

    8. All fundraising must be pre-approved through the Athletics and Activities Office. Please contact the GT Office or the Athletics and Activities Officefor required documents and information.
    9. At the end of a trip, send trip permission forms to the GT Office. At the end of your season, send completed participant permission forms to theGT Office.

    "Gifted and talented children" means those persons between the ages of five and twenty-one whose abilities, talents, and potential for accomplishment are so exceptional or developmentally advanced that they require special provisions to meet their educational programming needs. Children under five who are gifted may also be provided with early childhood special educational services. Gifted students include gifted students with disabilities (i.e. twice-exceptional) and students with exceptional abilities or potential from all socio-economic and ethnic, cultural populations. Gifted students are capable of high performance, exceptional production, or exceptional learning behavior by virtue of any or a combination of these areas of giftedness:
    General or specific intellectual ability.
    Specific academic aptitude.
    Creative or productive thinking.
    Leadership abilities.
    Visual arts, performing arts, musical or psychomotor abilities.
